May 2017 CrossFitter of the Month

May 2017's CrossFitter of the Month

 Mike Lindsley

The trainers & staff at CrossFit Silver Fox would like to recognize Mike Lindsley as our CrossFitter of the month for May, 2017.  Mike & his wife Jamie came to CrossFit Silver Fox in September of last year looking for a change.  We are thrilled that they made that change and came to CFSF.  Mike is a pleasure to have in class. He works hard, and pushes others in the classes he is in.  Mike is never afraid to try anything or RX something and that, along with his great work ethic has earned him CrossFitter of the Month.  Here is a little bit more about Mike.

Age: 39
Occupation:Corrections
City: Oakfield

When did you start at CrossFit Silver Fox?
          September 2016
What do you do when you’re not here?
          Work/ spend time with family
What brought your to CrossFit Silver Fox?
Honestly Jamie and I wanted to get into better shape
What keeps you at CrossFit Silver Fox?
Challenging workouts that are different everyday so it doesn't get repetitious.
Now that you're here, what was your biggest misconception?
For most people is the fact they think you have to be a body builder to do this but trust me
you don't it is more about technique than size. A lot of the heaviest weight lifted is by people who have a great technique.
 Biggest Improvements/struggles with CrossFit?
Deadlift/back squat was biggest improvements. Struggles would be snatches (lol) and overhead squats.
How many days do you train at CrossFit Silver Fox?
          3-5 days a week
What makes your come in and train on days when you don’t want to?
The fact I realize I need the cardio exorcise despite the fact I hate it. And the fact if you
don't push yourself you will never improve.
What is your approach towards nutrition?
I eat whatever I want never had to worry about gaining weight.
 Favorite workout?
I have several but I would say pullups/slamballs/deadlifts are among my top
What is the most challenging part of your CrossFit journey?
Improving the technical aspect of some of the movements.
Super Power you would want most?
I already have one, super metabolism, but the other would be able to heal/recover                           instantly.
 Any advice for new comers?
You get what you put into it the harder you work the faster the results but no matter what                you will improve.
 Favorite activities outside of CrossFit?
           Hunting,Golf
Name something about yourself that is a little known fact.
I read a lot more than people think I do.

Accomplishments at the gym. PR’s, Weight Loss, etc?
Well since joining Deadlift went from #220 to #335 and
Backsquat #175 to #215. I shaved almost a minute off my 1 mile run time and did a 44" box jump 5 times.
Goals for the year?
15 strict pull ups/ Increase my deadlift/backsquat/Strict press PR
